A Cosmic Perspective

Lord Rees of Ludlow, the Astronomer Royal and Emeritus Gresham Professor of Astronomy, presents a history of humanity's exploration and understanding of the cosmos. Lord Rees begins his lecture with Newton and covers all of astronomical history.

Following the Lecture, Lord Rees is joined by 5 Emeritus Gresham Professors for a question and answer panel quite unlike any other. As our chair, Professor Chris Impey puts it "there's never been an assemblage of such erudition before". The panel discusses the future of astronomy, the possibility of God and the difficulty of Dark Matter.
