Byzantium 330-1453 at The Royal Academy of Arts is a staggering and ambitious exhibition covering over 1,000 years of art with some 300 pieces ranging from detached wall painting and icons to micro-mosaics and silver metalwork. Professor Robin Cormack of The Courtauld Institute of Art gives a review of Byzantine art and offers a path through this wonderful exhibition.
