The Blitz: A Catastrophe that made London

Between September 1940 and May 1941 London was subjected to the most devastating aerial bombardment. On the 29 December 1940, in one night 64,000 incendiary bombs rained down on London igniting the Second Great Fire, destroying 36% of the City.
