THE 2020 JOINT LONDON MATHEMATICAL SOCIETY ANNUAL LECTURE
The first and only female Fields Medalist, Maryam Mirzakhani, left an astonishing mathematical legacy at her untimely death in 2017.
This talk will explain the lasting contributions of her work to our understanding of the world, and give a glimpse into into Professor Mirzakhani's imaginative and hands-on approach to mathematics.
No reservations are required for this lecture. It will be run on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.

Holly is Corfield Lecturer in the Department of Pure Mathematics and Statistics and a Fellow at Murray Edwards College, University of Cambridge. Her current research interests are in the emerging field of arithmetic dynamics, which studies the relationship between dynamics of one complex variable and the arithmetic geometry of abelian varieties.
