Allan Clayton

The tenor Allan Clayton studied at the Royal Academy of Music and was a BBC New Generation Artist from 2007-2009. He became an Associate Artist of Classical Opera in 2007 and has previously appeared with the company as Christ (Die Schuldigkeit des ersten Gebots), in recital at Kings Place, and on the company’s début recording, ‘The A-Z of Mozart Opera’, on Sony BMG.

Other operatic roles have included Ferrando (Così fan tutte) and the title role in Albert Herring for Glyndebourne Festival Opera, Castor (Castor and Pollux) and Lysander (A Midsummer Night’s Dream) for English National Opera, Benedict (Berlioz’s Béatrice et Bénédict) for Opéra Comique in Paris and Ferrando (Così fan tutte) and Camille (Lehar’s Die lustige Witwe) for Opera North.

His recordings include Handel’s Messiah for EMI, recorded live from King’s College Cambridge and released as a DVD, and Handel’s Joshua for the London Handel Society.
