Professor Anna Whitelock

Professor Anna Whitelock is a historian, author and broadcaster. She is Professor of the History of Monarchy at City, University of London. Anna is the prizewinning author of Mary Tudor England’s First Queen (Bloomsbury 2009) (US- Mary Tudor: Princess, Bastard, Queen (Random House 2010) and Elizabeth’s Bedfellows: An Intimate History of the Queen’s Court (Bloomsbury, 2013) (Published in the US as The Queen’s Bed by FSG) which won The American PEN/Jacqueline Bograd Weld Award for Biography. 

She is currently finishing a book on James I and the dawn of the 17th century. She is an international media commentator on the monarchy, public history, and the Tudors and Stuarts. She is the Principal Investigator on a major AHRC project exploring Queen Elizabeth II in the Caribbean, 1952-to present.
