Sidney J Holt DSc

Sidney J. Holt was a biologist who founded fisheries science, the academic discipline of managing and understanding fisheries. He was best known for the 1957 book On the Dynamics of Exploited Fish Populations. Holt served with the FAO in 1953 and with other UN agencies for a further 25 years. After his retirement, he continued to publish in academic journals his views on whaling and fisheries management.
