Around the World with Indian Cinema
Part of:
One of the largest film producing nations in the world, Indian cinema has a rich and dynamic history that goes back well over a century – a history of successfully counteracting competition from Hollywood where richer countries, like Britain, have failed. Indian cinema also has a long and successful global history that is less familiar. This lecture explores the global flows of Indian cinema, its many influences and shifting impacts on cinema-going cultures across the world for almost a hundred years.
