Our Sun, Our Star

The Sun makes life on Earth possible. It is special to us, but it is also just another one of the Milky Way’s hundred billion stars.
This lecture considers what the Sun can teach us about its stellar brethren, from studies of its ever-changing surface to understanding its interior via astro-seismology, the study of star quakes. We’ll also see how a better understanding of our star is crucial in our search for life out there amongst the stars.
