Collaboration involves shared goals, turn-taking and repair after breakdown. Drawing on coordination science, we examine how humans and AI work together in high-risk and everyday settings. Effective partnership depends less on computational scale than on alignment and trust; we ask how shared agency can be designed without dissolving accountability.
