Dr Fenner Tanswell

Dr Fenner Tanswell is a philosopher working as a Researcher at the Centre for Logic and Philosophy of Science at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and a Visiting Fellow at the Mathematics Education Centre at Loughborough University. He previously worked at Loughborough University, the University of St Andrews and the University of Oxford. He did his PhD on the St Andrews/Stirling joint programme on the philosophy of mathematics. 

Dr Tanswell's work is primarily on proofs, mathematical knowledge, maths education, and formalisation. His emphasis is on the way that social aspects of mathematical practices affect the maths that is produced and how mathematical concepts develop over time.
