Kavita Puri is an award-winning journalist and broadcaster. She devised, wrote and presented the landmark Radio 4 series Partition Voices, which was awarded the Royal Historical Society’s Best radio and podcast prize and its overall Public History prize. Partition Voices: Untold British stories, based on the series, is a critically-acclaimed book. An updated edition is out for the 75th anniversary, and it is currently being adapted for the theatre by the Donmar Warehouse with Tara Theatre.
Kavita is also the creator of Three Pounds in My Pocket on Radio 4 – a series tracing the social history of British South Asians. It is on its fifth series. She is a regular presenter of The Inquiry on the BBC World Service and an executive producer in BBC Current Affairs. She is a fellow of the Royal Historical Society and a Trustee of the Victoria and Albert museum.
