Patrick Jenkins

Patrick Jenkins

Patrick joined the Financial Times in 1998 and has been Deputy Editor of the Financial Times since January 2020. Before his appointment, Patrick served as a Financial Editor for over five years, helping to shape the FT’s overall financial coverage and managing several teams, including banking, markets, and Lex.

During his time at FT, he launched the FT City Network, a popular debating forum that helped strengthen the FT’s relationship with its core business readers. He has also reported for FT Money and UK Companies, as well as being a Frankfurt correspondent, Companies Editor and Banking Editor.

In mid-2020, Patrick championed the setting up of the FT Financial Literacy and Inclusion Campaign (FLIC). The charity, focused on democratising financial education, aligned with Patrick’s desire to broaden access to basic financial education and to promote the kinds of successful investment and entrepreneurship that financial understanding helps foster. Patrick was appointed as Chair of FLIC’s Board of Trustees, following its launch in May 2021.
