Professor Martin Millett

Martin Millett has been the Laurence Professor of Classical Archaeology at The University of Cambridge since 2001. He previously held academic posts at the Universities of Durham and Southampton.
 
He works on the impact of Roman imperialism on indigenous societies and on the application of remote sensing techniques in archaeology. He has led a range of fieldwork projects in the UK, Spain, Portugal and Italy and has published widely. He is a Fellow of the British Academy and a Member of the Academia Europaea. He is currently the President of the Society of Antiquaries of London.
