Rabbi Dr Deborah Kahn-Harris
Rabbi Dr Deborah Kahn-Harris is the Principal of Leo Baeck College in London, where she also teaches Hebrew Bible. Prior to her appointment in 2011, she was a member of the rabbinic team at Sha’arei Tsedek/North London Reform Synagogue. She holds a PhD in Bible from the University of Sheffield entitled “Like a Hammer for Shattering Rock: Employing Classical Rabbinic Hermeneutics to Fashion Contemporary Feminist Commentary on the Bible”. She previously served as the Teaching Fellow in Judaism at the School for Oriental and African Studies, University of London. Rabbi Dr Kahn-Harris is currently writing on a book on family relationships in the book of Ruth. She is married with two children and lives in London.
