On 15 December, 1993, the Trade Negotiations Committee (TNC) of the Uruguay Round adopted the resolutions and agreements which would go to form the World Trade Organisation two years later.

From a point in time before the Uruguay Round was finally complete, Professor Simmonds offers a now historically unique viewpoint on the historical and political context to the multilateral trade negotiations that took place between  1986 and 1994, embracing 123 countries, which has come to form such an important part of the world we inhabit today.
