Death and Society is a five-part lecture series exploring how individuals and societies engage with death. Topics range from personal end-of-life planning and Do Not Resuscitate decisions to legal, cultural, and artistic responses to mortality. Lectures cover practical steps for aging with dignity, the medical and ethical dimensions of death certification, and how historical art and music reflect and shape our understanding of life’s end. Together, these talks encourage thoughtful preparation, informed discussion, and a deeper appreciation of how death is addressed across time and disciplines.
