A lecture that approaches the question of the survival of cross-cultural theatre in Britain in three ways, considering:
(1) The welcome (or not) given to international theatre that visits the UK, particularly European theatre,
(2) The place of theatre from a variety of cultural traditions flourishing in the UK as a result of immigration in the second half of this century
(3) The export of British theatre to an international setting.
