Ray Long

Ray Long left the Civil Service in 2017 after a 40-year career which included roles as CEO of BPDTS Limited (the Government-owned private company which provided digital services to the Department for Work & Pensions), Director of Business Tax Change and Corporate Services Change in HM Revenue & Customs, Major Projects Director in HM Treasury’s Office of Government Commerce and the Cabinet Office, Programme Director for the nationwide NHS ‘Choose and Book’ service, and CEO of the Northern Ireland Business Development Service.  

A Past President of BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, and Past Master Information Technologist, he now runs his own company, Ray Long Consulting Limited.  Ray was appointed as a Companion of the Order of the Bath for services to Government and the Public Sector in Her Majesty The Queen's 2018 New Year’s Honours List.
