Visitors to Auschwitz are confronted by scores of objects: shoes and suitcases, brushes, glasses, even human hair. Stolen from the victims of the Holocaust, they testify to the scale of the atrocities committed there. But can they tell us more?
This lecture reveals that careful analysis of these remains, combined with serious attention to the testimony of those who were dragged into this abyss, can offer new insights into the history of the Holocaust.
