Professor Shoemaker is Professor of Eighteenth-Century British History at the University of Sheffield. He is currently co-director of The Digital Panopticon: The Global Impact of London Punishments, 1780-1925, an AHRC funded 'Digital Transformations' project.
Professor Hitchcock is Professor of Digital History at the University of Sussex. Professor Hitchcock chairs the AHRC's Digital Transformations Working Group and sits on the AHRC Research Advisory Board, and the British Library Advisory Council.
