Six General Elections

General elections are like a mirror in which a society’s values are reflected. On certain occasions, the outcome of an election shows that a society has decided to change direction. The election alters the course of political life. This series of lectures considers six post-war elections, five of which were landmarks. The sixth lecture will be on the next election, which will probably be held on 7th May 2015. While it is impossible to predict the outcome, it is reasonable to predict that it will have profound consequences.
