October is a particularly busy month here at Gresham. We will celebrate Black History Month with lectures on The Lost Cities and Amazing Heritage of Kenya by Robin Walker, Toussaint Louverture and the Haitian Revolution by Dr Sudhir Hazareesingh, and The Politics of Fashion in Africa since 1960 by Dr Christine Checinska.

Professor of Rhetoric Joanna Bourke kicks off her 2022-23 series with Tuberculosis: A Cultural History while Professor of Geometry Sarah Hart looks at The Maths of Coins and Currencies 

Meanwhile three of our newly-appointed Professors will give their inaugural lectures: Professor of Physic Robin May examines The Microbial Basis of Life and Environment Professor Myles Allen asks Why Net Zero? Plus our new Professor of Business, Raghavendra Rau, begins his series on The Tech Revolution in Finance with Bypassing Banks Using Tech

Postponed lecture
Visiting Professor Ian Mudway's lecture, What Is the Exposome and Why Does It Matter to Your Health? was postponed due to the state funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II; it will now take place on 27 October.
