Roger Kemp is a Professorial Fellow in the Engineering Department at Lancaster University. His research interests include energy use and safety regulation of transport systems as well as the safety regulation of the nuclear industry.
Alastair is a Consultant Physician in the Tropical & Infectious Disease Unit at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital and has been an Honorary Fellow at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine since 2005.

Professor Roper is an Australian historian and academic. She was appointed Regius Professor of Modern History at the University of Oxford in 2011. She is a fellow of Oriel College and an honorary fellow of Merton College, Oxford.
